some personal illuminations on writing a first draft
• write a page of your novel every day no matter what
• even if you’re exhausted and/or have a million other things to do
• write what’s authentically you
• it doesn’t have to be perfect it just has to be finished
• yes some of the writing will be bad get over it
• better to write badly than to plagiarize or be a fraud or give up
• get over aesthetic
• only you can record your vision—and you must
